If you had seen these two men before they died, you probably would have assumed the rich man was winning.
He had the clothes.
The house.
The food.
The lifestyle.
Lazarus had almost nothing.
But then they died.
And everything changed.
Or maybe it would be better to say that eternity revealed what had been true all along.
The man who seemed to have everything now had nothing.
And the man who seemed to have nothing now had everything.
That should challenge the way we define a successful life.
Because you can gain everything this world has to offer and still miss what matters most.
Money isn’t bad.
Success isn’t bad.
Enjoying what God has given you isn’t bad.
But none of those things can prepare you for eternity.
Only Jesus can do that.
