The rich man desperately wanted his situation to change.
But it couldn’t.
Abraham tells him that a great chasm had been fixed between them.
No one could cross it.
That’s one of the hardest parts of Jesus’ story.
But it’s also one of the reasons He tells it.
Jesus wants us to understand that the time to decide where you’ll spend eternity is before you enter it.
We love putting things off.
Tomorrow.
Next week.
When life slows down.
When we’re older.
But some decisions are too important to keep postponing.
And nothing is more important than what you do with Jesus.
