When most of us think about Heaven, we immediately start wondering what it will be like.
What will it look like?
What will we do?
Who will be there?
Those are good questions.
But John begins by showing us something far better than anything Heaven might contain.
God Himself will be there.
John hears a voice from the throne say:
“God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.”
Think about that.
We won’t simply know God is near.
We won’t just experience His presence occasionally.
We will live in His presence.
Forever.
That’s why the best thing about Heaven isn’t what’s there.
It’s Who’s there.
The streets of gold will be incredible.
The city will be unbelievable.
Everything John describes will be better than we can imagine.
But none of those things are what make Heaven, Heaven.
Jesus does.

Today’s Question: When I think about Heaven, am I more excited about what will be there or Who will be there?
Today’s Challenge: Spend a few minutes today simply being with God. Don’t ask Him for anything. Thank Him for who He is and for the promise that one day you’ll be with Him forever.
Today’s Prayer: “Father, thank You that my future isn’t simply a better place, but eternity with You. Help me want Your presence more than anything You could ever give me.”
