One of the saddest lines in this passage is:
"They did not ask, 'Where is the Lord?'"
This didn’t happen in a day.
This happened over time.
After all, nobody just decides in a moment to abandon God.
Drift happens slowly.
One compromise at a time.
One distraction at a time.
One neglected prayer a time.
Until eventually you realize you've gone days, or even weeks, without really depending on Him.
The people in Jeremiah’s day didn't stop seeking the Lord suddenly.
It was a slow fade.
And that's how it always happens.

Today's Question: Have you been seeking God lately, or just assuming He's there?
Today's Challenge: Before you do anything else tomorrow morning, spend a few minutes intentionally seeking the Lord.
Today's Prayer: “Jesus, don't let me drift from You. Keep my heart close and dependent upon You.”
