“Carry each other’s burdens.”
That's one of those verses that sounds really good until someone else's burden becomes inconvenient.
Because carrying something costs you.
Time.
Energy.
Attention.
Sometimes money.
And you can't carry something heavy for someone while standing at a distance.
You have to get close.
That's what biblical community looks like.
When someone hurts, we move toward them.
When someone struggles, we stay with them.
When someone's load becomes too heavy, we put our shoulder underneath it too.
Sometimes that means providing a meal.
Making a phone call.
Watching someone's kids.
Sitting in a hospital room.
Listening longer than you planned.
And sometimes it simply means refusing to let someone walk through something alone.
We can't just say, “I'll pray for you,” when God has given us the ability to become part of the answer to that prayer.

Today's Question: Whose burden has God placed close enough for me to help carry?
Today's Challenge: Do something tangible for one person today. Don't just tell them you're thinking about them. Lighten their load somehow.
Today's Prayer: “Jesus, open my eyes to the burdens around me. Give me the willingness to get close, be inconvenienced, and help carry what someone else can't carry alone.”
