Day 4Serve Them Anyway

Day 4

Serve Them Anyway

Jesus washed Peter’s feet… knowing Peter would deny Him.

Jesus washed the feet of the disciples…knowing they would abandon Him.

Jesus even washed Judas’ feet… knowing Judas would betray Him.

Think about that.

Jesus didn’t wait for people to deserve His service before He served them.

And neither should we.

That’s where following Jesus gets uncomfortable.

It’s easy to serve people who appreciate us.

People who reciprocate.

People who notice.

But Jesus calls us to something better.

We serve because of who He is, not because of what they do.

So maybe you’re waiting for them to apologize first.

Help first.

Call first.

Serve first.

Maybe Jesus would simply say…

Pick up the towel anyway.

Today’s Question: Is there someone I’ve been unwilling to serve because I’m waiting for them to do something for me first?

Today’s Challenge: Serve someone today who can’t repay you or someone you’ve been waiting on to go first.

Today’s Prayer: “Jesus, help me serve people the way You served me. Give me the humility to love without keeping score and serve without expecting something in return.”
