Day 5Take the L

Day 5

Take the L

Everything in that room told the disciples that washing feet meant losing.

The important people got served.

The least important person did the serving.

Then Jesus turned the whole thing upside down.

The greatest Person in the room took the lowest position in the room.

And afterward He told His disciples, “Do as I have done for you.”

Jesus was showing them a completely different way to win.

The world says you win by moving up.

Jesus says sometimes you win by moving down.

The world says you win by being served.

Jesus says you win by serving.

The world says you win by getting the W.

Jesus says sometimes you win by taking the L.

Then Jesus says something we shouldn’t miss…

“Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

Knowing isn’t enough.

Agreeing isn’t enough.

Jesus says the blessing comes when we actually do it.

So, pick up the towel.

Serve when nobody notices.

Go second.

Give up the credit.

Do what everybody else thinks is beneath them.

Because maybe Jesus knows something about winning that the rest of us don’t.

Maybe the way to get the W is to take the L.

Today’s Question: Where is Jesus asking me to choose serving over winning?

Today’s Challenge: Take the L today. Find one opportunity to put someone else ahead of yourself and do it without needing recognition.

Today’s Prayer: “Jesus, make Your heart my heart. Help me stop chasing position and start looking for towels. Give me the courage to serve the way You served me.”
