Day 3But Now...

Day 3

But Now...

If Paul had stopped at verse 20, we'd have no hope.

We're guilty. We have no defense. And there's nothing we can do to fix the problem ourselves.

Then come two of the most beautiful words in Romans… “But now...”

Something has changed.

And what's changed isn't us.

It’s what God has done for us.

God has provided a way for unrighteous people like us to be made right with Him.

And that way has a name.

Jesus.

Paul says righteousness is given “through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.”

We couldn't get to God.

So God came to us.

We couldn't solve our problem.

So God provided the solution.

We couldn't make ourselves righteous.

So God offers us the righteousness of Jesus.

That's what makes the Gospel such good news.

God has done for us what we could never do for ourselves.

Today's Question:

Am I living like my relationship with God depends primarily on what I do for Him or on what He has done for me?

Today's Challenge:

Every time you feel like you aren't “good enough” for God today, remind yourself of these two words: “But now.” Then thank Him for what Jesus has done for you.

Today's Prayer:

“Father, thank You for not leaving me in my sin. Thank You for doing for me what I could never do for myself. Help me put all of my confidence in Jesus.”
