Day 2This Is How You Know God Loves You

Day 2

This Is How You Know God Loves You

“How do I know God loves me?”

Maybe you've wondered that when life hurt. Or when the prayer wasn't answered. Or when the diagnosis wasn't good. Or when the relationship fell apart.

But Paul doesn't point us toward our circumstances as proof of God's love.

He points us toward the cross.

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God didn't just say He loves you.

He demonstrated it.

And He didn't demonstrate His love after you proved you were worthy of it.

He loved you while you were still a sinner.

Before you cleaned yourself up. Before you got your act together. Before you did anything to deserve it.

Jesus died for you.

So, when circumstances tempt you to question God's love, don't measure His love by what's happening around you.

Instead, look at the cross.

That's how you know you're loved.

Today's Question:

What circumstances in my life have caused me to question God's love?

Today's Challenge:

Memorize Romans 5:8 today. When you begin questioning God's love, say it out loud and let the cross, not your circumstances, answer the question.

Today's Prayer:

“Father, thank You for doing more than telling me You love me. You demonstrated Your love through Jesus. When I doubt Your love, help me look again at the cross.”
