Day 4Enemies No More

Day 4

Enemies No More

Paul doesn't soften our condition before Jesus.

He says we were God's enemies.

That's stronger language than most of us would use.

Maybe you grew up in church. Maybe you were a pretty good kid. Maybe you never thought of yourself as being against God.

But sin put us at odds with Him.

And here's the incredible part…God took the first step toward us.

We didn't climb our way back to Him.

He came for us.

Through Jesus' death, the relationship our sin had broken could be reconciled. Enemies could become family. And that means something important when you fail today.

Because you will still mess up. You will still struggle. You will still have moments when you wonder whether God has finally had enough of you.

But think about this: If God came after you when you were His enemy, why would you think He would drop you now that you belong to Him?

You pursue holiness because He loves you. Not to convince Him to love you. You obey because you've been reconciled. Not to earn reconciliation.

Jesus has changed the relationship.

You're no longer His enemy.

Today's Question:

When I fail, do I run toward God as His child or hide from Him as though I'm still His enemy?

Today's Challenge:

Bring one current struggle honestly to God today. Don't hide it. Confess it and then thank Him that your relationship with Him rests on what Jesus has done.

Today's Prayer:

“Father, thank You for coming after me when I was Your enemy and bringing me back to Yourself. Help me pursue holiness from Your love instead of trying to earn it.”
