We like earning things.
We like earning a paycheck. We like earning other people’s respect. We like earning the right to be heard.
But if we aren't careful, we'll approach God the same way…like we have to earn our salvation.
We’ll work hard to be good enough. We’ll try to impress Him by going to church often enough. We’ll do our best to keep the Ten Commandments well enough.
But Paul says that's not how salvation works.
You don't have to accomplish some impossible task to earn God’s favor or attention.
God has already come to you.
Jesus came. Jesus died. Jesus rose from the dead.
All the work has already been done.
And that's why salvation isn't something we achieve…It's something we receive.
You don’t earn a gift. You receive it.
The Gospel isn't an invitation to try harder. It's an invitation to stop trusting in what you can do and start trusting in what Jesus has already done.

Today's Question:
Am I receiving what Jesus has done for me, or am I still trying to prove myself to God?
Today's Challenge:
Notice when you feel the need to prove yourself to God today. When it happens, remind yourself, “Jesus has already done what needed to be done.”
Today's Prayer:
“Jesus, thank You for doing what I could never do for myself. Help me stop trying to earn what You freely offer and put my trust completely in You.”
